Teacher Saves Choking Student In School Lunchroom

 

Teacher saves choking student in Ohio elementary lunch room.

Amy Tonti was making her rounds in the lunch room while the kindergartners, first and second graders ate.  She found one of the students slumped over in their seat.  She asked if they were choking.  The student wasn’t able to answer but did widen his eyes.  The teacher then pulled him up and performed the Heimlich maneuver on him.  After a number of thrusts the food piece popped out of his mouth.  She is grateful to have been in the right place at the right time.   For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:
