Science Teacher Keeps It Hands On

Carly Coffman science teacher keeps it hands on

The third grade science teacher keeps it hands on when it comes to learning.  Coffman who has been teaching for about 31/2 years.  In one recent class she demonstrated the difference between gas, solids, and liquids by using balloons filled with each.  Some of the students learned the lesson by seeing, other by hearings, some by touching.  Coffman says that she just wants each student to be able to learn to their best ability.  It would be simpler just to get the book out and read it to them, but Coffman says that she just can’t do it that way.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:
