School Bus Driver Sues Over Facebook Post Firing

 

School bus driver sues over Facebook post firing

Johnny Cook’s post was simply about a student going hungry because the school would not allow the student to have a 40 cent credit to get lunch.  Cook wanted to start a dialogue about not letting kids go hungry at school, especially when they were already on the reduced lunch program and only paying forty cents for lunch.

 

Cook was given the choice of saying he had misspoke in his post and apologizing to the school board or being fired.  Cook stood up for his rights and was fired by the school board.  The American Civil Liberties Union is representing cook in this case.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:
