Home Teacher News Evaluation System Gets Mixed Grades From Teachers

Empowering Effective Teachers is an evaluation system put in place in the Hillsborough County School District two years ago.  It came after the district accepted a 7 year $100 Million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  Peer Evaluators come into the classrooms and evaluate the teachers.  These Peer Evaluators are former teachers themselves, from outside of the school.  Some teachers feel like it is Big Brother watching over them while others think that had all the teachers had training on the program before it started, their would be no objections to it now.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:
